Many of Mango's issues could have been fixed.

If Lew had a mind to actually be a hands-on boss he could have turned Mango into a long term coach.
1. "Look here lardass, you are a walking heart attack. I have you set up with the head of nutrition for a diet. You're gonna lose 3 pounds per week until you are 250 pounds. You get $75,000. for ever 50 pounds you drop.
2. Stop berating kids in public. If they need an ass-chewing, take them to your office. If they need to resign their scholarship, call me, we will get it done LEGALLY.
3. Get RID of these problem children, even the ones who can play a little. They are screwing up things for the asketball team - the team that drops money into this place like a whorehouse during shore leave.
4. I'll talk to Self, but YOU talk to your boys, turn them into basketball fans. Have them show up as a group to basketball games. Don't worry, I'll get the tickets.
5. Get your big ass out in the community - lawrence, KC, Topeka and all of the little towns. Smile and tell the kiddies how the chiskenhawks love them and want them to play for us in a few years.
6. Christ, get some plastic surgery, lose three or four chins. You realize we have a teaching hospital within the university, right?
7. Keep going to bowl games - ANY bowl game. Beat MU, that brings in lots of money.
