Well, I keep coming up with plenty of evidence as to why I almost did not keep these picks going this year. Things just get a little crazy where I cannot write quite as long of descriptions of why I feel good about certain games as I would like. But, we are not embarrassing ourselves so far on the picks as we are now 7-5 ATS on the year.

Speaking of embarrassing, I looked on in horror as Missouri showed up (in body anyway) for what should have been at least a competitive football game and turned out to be a blowout. I don't call out individual players although it certainly appeared as though there was an alarming lack of focus, and yes in some cases even effort, to fight for catches, extra yards, tackles, you name it in many situations at the game Saturday. This obviously can't continue and I do feel that Jim Sterk has a great track record of solving problems if it comes to that point.

So now we have Mizzou getting 19 points at home against an Auburn team that appears to be very limited on offense. At first glance that APPEARS to be too many points for the road team with a few problems and limitations to give up but you aren't getting me to pick Missouri at this point. Once again, no bet or pick on the game involving the home team this week.

There are some games I do like.

MASSACHUSETTS is actually reasonably talented and not that badly coached. They had a horrible loss early but they cover the plus 28 at Tennessee.

I'm afraid we may have gotten a bit too excited about South Carolina. Again, they were rather fortunate to beat NC State and it's generous to say beating MU the way they did is worth that much. Now a remarkable talent has been lost for the year?

Let's take the 8.5 points and roll with LOUISIANA TECH.

NEBRASKA could not get out of their own way against Northern Illinois. The defense actually looked very good for most of the game. Rutgers shouldn't keep up here so let's take the Huskers -12 and go against those who are reacting to a really disappointing loss.

Washington has had another soft out of conference schedule and they are walking into a hornet's nest in Boulder. I don't think the Buffs get the upset but it wouldn't surprise me. I really like COLORADO getting 10.5 points here as this will be a battle.

I like to take well coached team's with time to prepare. NAVY -11 is coming off a bye and Cincinnati appears to be down quite a bit this year although they did just put together a nice rally to win a rivalry game. Still, I'll take the points here and go NAVY.

That's all for this week, good luck to your (non Auburn Tiger) team!
